The Antares is a top-tier Grade 5 security safe, certified to EN 1143-1, for businesses and institutions protecting very high-value cash, valuables or sensitive assets. Its exceptionally reinforced construction resists prolonged, professional attack. The range is offered in a wide choice of sizes.
Grade 5 maximum-security protection
Tested to the EN 1143-1 Grade 5 standard, the Antares provides one of the highest levels of certified burglary resistance available. Grade 5 requires two locks: choose twin key locks, a key lock paired with a 90-user Kaba Combi B90 code lock, twin 9-user LG 39E code locks, or twin Kaba Combi B90 code locks. It includes 30-minute certified fire protection for paper documents as standard, upgradable to 60 minutes, and the safe can be anchored for maximum stability. An Antares security safe is built for situations where the highest protection is essential.

Which burglary grade should I choose to insure cash & valuables?
Match the grade to the cash and valuables you need to store and to what your insurer requires. As a guide: S1/S2 and Grade 0–I for homes and small business, Grade II and above for higher sums. Always confirm the covered figure with your own insurer.
I forgot the code to my safe. Can you help me?
For security reasons neither SafeGear nor the lock manufacturer holds a master code. If the door is open the code can be reset using your lock manual; if it is locked and no emergency key was supplied, a locksmith must open the safe, which usually destroys it.
How can I bolt the safe myself?
You can bolt your safe following 8 simple steps. Read the article for the full description. If you're bolting the safe inside a wardrobe with a wooden back, we strongly recommend that you cut a hole in the back corresponding to the size of the safe in order to push the safe directly up against the wall.
How can I get an extra copy of the key for my safe?
You can ask a local locksmith to make a copy if you still have a key.
If you lost all your keys to the safe, it will depend on whether your door is open:
1) OPEN door - you can replace the entire safe lock with a new lock.
2) LOCKED door - no easy solution. A professional would have to either pick the safe lock (not easy!) or break into the safe to recover any valuables. The exact approach would depend on the security level of your safe but the safe will be destroyed and you would have to replace it.
How many bolts are included with my safe?
One expansion bolt is always included for anchoring the safe to the floor. You can buy additional bolts in any hardware store for additional anchoring to the wall.
Recommended anchor is M12/200mm (marked as 12/100)
I have an electronic lock. How often do I have to change the battery?
It depends on how often you use the electronic safe lock. In most cases, the battery will last 1-2 years.

Yes! Safegear offers a Delivery & Installation for your recently bought safe. The cost depends on various factors related to the safe (weight and size) and the place where it is going to be installed (location, stairs etc.).
Install a safe: We have underfloor heating. Can we still bolt our safe to the floor?
If you have underfloor heating, we strongly recommend that you do not drill down into your floor.
Instead, look for other ways to secure your safe:
1) Bolt your safe to the wall instead of the floor.
2) Buy a heavy safe that is difficult for a thief to remove.
Obviously, you can combine the two options where you buy a heavy safe and bolt it to the wall for extra protection.

A safe can be bolted to the floor, the wall, or inside a wardrobe. Pay attention to the surface material - concrete or bricks offers a safer, much more solid fixing than wood.

If you use the safe on a daily basis, we recommend that you place it in an easily accessible location. Make sure you have checked the door opening dimension and opening side before placing/bolting the safe.

My electronic safe lock is out of battery. How can I replace the battery?
All our safes with a codelock have emergency access:
1) an external contact on which an external 9V backup battery can be connected,
2) there is an emergency key, or
3) the battery can be changed from outside.

Yes, you can change the code, as long as you follow the manufacturer's manual.
Always change the code with the door open and test it several times before locking the safe.

Safes or security cabinets usually come with several locking options. Key and code locks offer the same security level - choose according to your preferences.
Most customer choose a code or electronic lock for their safe due to the convenience of not having to deal with a key. All our code locks offer emergency access if the battery runs out.
Safes: Do the external dimensions include the lock?
No, the lock is not included in the external dimensions of the safe. Measurements are without the lock handle and fitting. You can find the lock dimension in the product description under the attribute Lock depth.
Safes: What are the European Norms for Burglary Safe Ratings?
The EU norms for burglary-resistance safe ratings are values given by independent institutions recognized throughout Europe. The most important Burglary Standard is EN 1143-1.
What do I need to install my safe?
You need a quality drill and the corresponding drill bit (usually 10-12 mm diameter). Depending on the surface and fixing method, you'll either secure the safe with an expansion bolt (mechanical anchor) or bond an anchor in place using a two‑component (chemical) adhesive.
